Saint Patrick Catholic School is currently seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our team in the Business Office. This is an unpaid position for individuals interested in learning more about the HR field. The position is available up to 2-3 days a week for 15-25 hours per week.

Founded in 2005, Saint Patrick Catholic School (Norfolk, Virginia) is an independent Catholic school with an enrollment of approximately 400 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight. Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting and administrative tasks related to applicant tracking, interviewing, onboarding, background screening, new-hire orientations; similarly oversee and assist with the offboarding processes
- Conduct research to assist in updating policies and ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations at the local/state/federal level
- Assist with audits and maintaining records
- Special HR projects and other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in learning about the HR field
- Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Aptitude for problem-solving and interest in learning HR procedures and policies
- Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be able to solve problems without sacrificing relationships

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, crouch, crawl, stoop and run
Education and Experience
- Currently enrolled in a degree seeking program, recent graduate or working towards a certification
